Just back from 9 day holiday in Giez. Very beautiful and relaxing holiday, not busy at all. Apartment very clean, stunning views. We are a family of 5 & there was plenty of space for us.
Beautiful quiet location with lots to do on the doorstep.
Would recommend.

We had a perfect family holiday in Geiz. Stunning views, brillant weather, great appartment. Kids loved the pool, nice and quiet first thing in the morning. made good use of the bikes we hired. cycle lanes were nice and flat. Boat trip to annecy was fun, lots to see in annecy (shops).
the property was very clean.nice places to eat in faverge.
Recommended for: Adventure Seekers, Families with Teenagers, Romantic Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Young Children.

The Complex has a typical Alpine charm that is very welcoming. By French holiday standards this Apartment is BIG. Large, spacious, very bright with timber floors and windows and a warm Alpine character. A large balcony faces south east and enjoys sunshine from dawn to late afternoon in summer. It is ideal for breakfasts and Al Fresco dining. There are 3 Bedrooms (one is a 'Cabine' with a sloping roof) and 2 Double sofa beds in the Lounge. French tour companies market it as a 10 person unit, but we feel 8 Max, except for surprise stay overs. Fully fitted out for family meals catering for up to 10 places. Microwave + 2 electric Ring stove, dishwasher, and vacuum cleaner. Due to its' beautiful location and wealth of activities, we would suggest spending as little time indoors and enjoy summer pastures or winter snowfields and skiing. There is an outdoor and indoor heated pool, jacuzzi and sauna which is ideal after skiing, golf, tennis, etc. There is a doubles tennis court, and indoor games room for kids. It is located on the boundary of a fabulous Golf Course with breathtaking views of the mountains and Mont Blanc.

The historical village of Giez is located 4 kms from the southern shore of Lake Annecy and 2kms before Faverge on a major Alpine route between the cities of Annecy and Albertville. This Alpine village lies at the foothills of the Bauge Massif and the Alps and is stunningly beautiful and appealing to all the senses. The surrounding area has beautiful forests, Alpine pastures and stunning lakes. Local Mythology says that when the Angels were leaving this area after the Creation, their tears formed 3 Lakes, including Lake Annecy. Photographers, artists, musicians, nature lovers and people seeking outdoor pursuits (boating, tennis, para gliding, climbing, cyclists, hikers, golfers, skiers, etc.) all flock to this area. Annecy has won the French Floral award so many times that it has been banned from the competition! Tailloire on the east side of the lake is said to be one of the most romantic villages in France. Giez itself is a Village Historique and Le Birdie residence had to comply strictly with the local architecture, etc.

Accomodation and Facilities for Penthouse Apartment G-3-1, Le Birdie, Giez
Golf: The apartment is situated overlooking Giez Golf Club. This is a great & challenging course - with a prime objective of a well placed 1st shot. We played with a group varying in handicaps from 7 - 22. All 4 golfers loved it. Prices mid week are €45 and €55 at weekends. Golf Club hire for the week can be arranged for €40. We can also arrange a Golf Pass for 3 courses: Giez, Annecy, and Aix les Bain, for €114 total. Excellent value, extending to meals at these clubs. The latter 2 courses are around the Lakes surrounded by Alpine mountains. The natural beauty makes it hard to concentrate! However, we thought the course at Giez, on the doorstep of the apartment, was the best. Please send us your opinions when you return!
Skiing: Our 2 favourite Ski resorts, La Clusaz and Les Saisies, are located within 45 minutes drive of Giez. Both cater for all levels of skier. La Clusaz is the prettier resort, and Les Saisies has a slightly better snow record, allowing skiing to end of April. However, as you are not tied to either resort, try them both and send us your verdict. Albertville is only 25 kms from Giez, and is very close to many major ski resorts. Meribel, Courchevel as well as many other resorts surrounding the Trois Valles are only 1 hours drive down a first class motorway. It is always enjoyable getting back to Giez to use the saunas, jacuzzi and heated pool. We also love the shoping and the nighlife in the city of Annecy where there is a great selection with cheap prices.
Summer Activities and Outdoor Pursuits: In summer Lake Annecy has a host of things to do for all ages and all tastes from fishing and boating to water-skiing and paragliding. It has horse riding, assault courses in the forests, Disney-like Castles to visit, gorges and waterfalls. Hiking in the Bauge Massif mountain range is excellent as is mountain biking, and cycling. At Giez itself there is a wonderful cycle & roller blade track stretching from Faverges along Lake Annecy straight into the middle of Annecy city itself. This 35km cycle track is all on the flat, as it sits atop an old disused railway line. Fantastic for all ages and fitness levels. Bikes can be hired all over Annecy and in Faverges.

Giez
This is a stunning Alpine location for summer and winter sports, and a great venue for families & sports groups. Self catering with linen & towels supplied. Annecy city is 25 Kms away along a beautiful lakeside drive. Annecy is an artists paradise with Medieval bridges, canals, castles, churches and museums. Its' lake & rivers are crystal clear (you can see the fish & cormorants chasing them in the canals!) and great for swimming and water sports. Swans abound. Tourist vessels sail the lake for stunning views of the surrounding Mountains - including Mont Blancs' white capped slopes. Shopping for fashion, crafts, etc is a joy, as are the towns canal side restaurants. Paragliding, golf, fishing, boating, horse riding, tennis, hiking and 30 kms of cycle lanes, are all located on and around the Lake. Chic bistros, cafes and restaurants abound on the lake, villages and canals of Annecy. Fabulous wines accompany the famous Haute Savoie food with its' Italian roots. Estaminets (local bars) and other diverse cultural experiences will delight & enchant.
